The Show Must Go On!

Art triumphed over anarchy today as Di Xiao completing her recording of Ravels Piano works in Birmingham Town Hall as the City recovered from the recent riots.   The resulting CD is due for release on the SOMM Recordings label early next year.

Birmingham Riots Update

Riots in Birmingham City Centre have interrupted Di Xiao's recording of Ravel's piano works. Helicopter and siren noise had been spoiling the afternoon takes before Ms Xiao and the team from SOMM Recordings were asked to leave because the building was being shut for the safety of the staff. The production team hope to resume recording tomorrow.

Ravel, the Piano Works

Di Xiao begins recording the piano works of Maurice Ravel tomorrow at Birmingham's fabulous and Parthenon–esque Town Hall for SOMM Recordings.

Thank you Amsterdam Concertgebouw!!

I would like to say a personal thank you to the organisers and patrons of the Amsterdam Concertgebouw for helping me fulfil a dream. To perform in the fabulous Concertgebouw Kleiner Saal would have been honour enough but to receive a standing ovation from the full hall was beyond my wildest expectations. Thank you all, Di Xiao 13 March 2009.

The next stop on Di's European Tour is Salzburg Wiener Saal on 24 March at 19:30 then straight on to Vienna Wienkonzerthaus on 25 March again at 19:30.

Di Xiao at the Bremen Musikfest

NEWS! Di Xiao will play for the Bremen Musikfest in Singapore, Myanmar and India during April 09.

Di Xiao's next Rising Star Recital

Di Xiao will perform her next Rising Star Recital at Barcelona L'Auditori Chamber Music Hall on 25 February 2009.

The tour continues

Di Xiao will perform at Sutton Coldfield Town Hall on 26 January at 7:30pm. Her next Rising Star Recital will be at Barcelona L'Auditori Chamber Music Hall on 25 February.

Di Xiao European Tour

Di Xiao's European tour continued in style at the Athens Megaron on 10th December. A sell out concert followed at Luxembourg Philharmonie Salle de Musique de Chambre where the packed hall was reluctant to let her leave the stage. Di Xiao then moved on to the historic Hamburg Laeiszhalle where once again an extremely warm audience enjoyed 2 encores before they were satisfied. Di wishes to extend her heartfelt thanks to all those that attended her concerts and for their warm response to her music.

Di Xiao entrances select Symphony Hall audience

Di Xiao entranced a select audience of VIPs including business, industry and media personalities at Birmingham Symphony Hall last night 23 January 2008. Di soared to new heights bringing her crowd with her. Her emotive repertoire took them on a rollercoaster of tranquillity, romance, drama, excitement, and elation through the works of composers as diverse as Mozart, Schubert, Ravel, Scarlatti. Her wonderful Sibelius encore was, as always, an immense success.
